Booking Your Biometrics Appointment

Most Schengen applications require an in-person appointment to provide biometric data (fingerprints + photo). This is handled through the embassy directly or via visa application centres like VFS Global or BLS International.

Embassy Direct

France, Germany, Italy, and Spain manage their own appointment systems.

VFS Global

Used by many embassies including Netherlands, Austria, Greece, and Switzerland.

BLS International

Used by some Spanish and Italian consulate applications in the UK.

Book 4–6 Weeks Ahead

Especially during peak season (May–August). Slots fill fast.

What We Do for You

SN Travels handles the entire appointment booking process, so you never have to navigate confusing embassy portals alone.

We monitor embassy portals daily and book your appointment as soon as slots open.

We prepare a full appointment pack — every document in the correct order, ready to present.

We brief you on exactly what to expect at your appointment, including what to wear and say.

If rescheduling is needed, we manage rebooking without disrupting your travel plans.

Urgent applications? Some embassies offer expedited slots. Contact us immediately and we'll explore all options.

Understanding the 90/180 Day Rule

One of the most misunderstood Schengen rules. Here's how it actually works.

1
What does 90/180 mean?

You may stay in the Schengen Area for a maximum of 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. This is not a calendar year reset — it's calculated from any given day looking backward 180 days.

2
How is the 180-day window calculated?

Take today's date. Count back 180 days. Count every day you were inside the Schengen Area in those 180 days. If it equals 90, you cannot re-enter until you have "used up" days.

📅 Example: If you spent 60 days in Apr–Jun, you have 30 days remaining before the window resets.
3
Does it reset on a fixed date?

No. There is no fixed annual reset. The 180-day window is always rolling. You must count carefully for every trip, especially if you've visited multiple times.

4
What happens if I overstay?

Overstaying is a serious violation. It can result in a ban from the Schengen Area, complications on future visa applications, and potential deportation. Always monitor your days carefully.

5
Need help calculating your remaining days?

SN Travels can review your travel history and calculate exactly how many Schengen days you have remaining. Contact us for a free assessment before your next trip.
